I qualified with Enid's Swimming Babes' in 2006 and completed Learn to Swim for my Toddlers course in 2003.

The baby swimming programme is based on twelve exercises. These exercises are done at each lesson with parent and baby in the pool. This is a great time for both mommy and daddy to bond with their new baby. Moms don’t be scared to get wet, I promise you that you will enjoy this time more than your little one.

Each exercise forms part of a structured series of activities that helps in water safety and water orientation. Each step is simplified and made fun by adding sing-a-long sing for the kids to join in. As the children progress so do the exercises.

This programme is used for our babies from six months to three years. The programme is based on repetition so that the children will hopefully adopted one of the exercises if they should happen to fall into the pool without you. Moms and Dads are weaned out of the pool when their kiddies reach twenty months.

I have found children that have started swimming earlier on in life pick up the swimming skills easier as they reach three years whereas a three year old that has never swam before may take a little longer to get over the fear of water. Kids at the age of three understand the meaning of drowning.

We at Candy Bubbles' don't believe in forcing children to do things that they are not comfortable doing. For example putting ones eyes under water can be very scary at first. That's why we do this gradually. But a child that has submerged before and is just trying his luck is another thing. I as a parent will not do anything to your children that I will not do to mine.

At Candy Bubbles' we are very proud of the relationships that are formed between the swimmers and teachers. We encourage our pupils to be independant but when support and assistance is needed we are always close by.

Teaching swimming to young learners needs a great amount of trust. That trust can only be formed when your child feels safe and confident with his or her instructor.
