Jean van Heerden

Hi my name is Jean, and I am thrilled to have the privilege to teach children to swim.

My background is a former National Freestyle Swimmer.

Also I have done 2 Midmar Miles.(but have decided to leave it to the younger teachers).

The best part of a Swimming Teacher's job is to see the child progress, becoming less fearful and seeing them, feel the freedom that Swimming in water provides.

Come along kids, lets make you Swimming Champions.

Candice Marran

I matriculated from Pretoria High School for Girls in 2009. I am certified with my Learn to Swim South Africa accreditation. I am currently studying an LLB degree through the University of South Africa. After finishing school I realised my passion for children as well for sport could be combined with teaching children how to swim as well as have fun with them. This made me choose the career path as a Swimming Instructor.

Through the months of teaching at Candy Bubbles I have seen and experienced many emotions, reactions as well as different experiences with the children that we as swimming instructors are faced with every day. Some of these experiences that we are faced with are how a child may react in a new swimming environment. Some are very happy and confident to climb into the swimming pool without mom or dad, well others are very cautious and hesitate to climb in, this is the most common found amongst the children.

You should not be alarmed should your child react in a cautious or negative way, they will in their own time find their flippers and feel as comfortable as possible in the pool and with us. We are always there to encourage and support them.

I cherish everyday with the kids and I love to see them swim from strength to strength. I love being able to be a part of their growth in their foundation years and we always ensure they have the most fun while learning this important life skill. There is never a dull day at the Candy Bubbles pool with Nemo and the gang and the children it is a real journey that we encourage everyone to be a part of.

With singing, sliding, swimming, and choo-choo train what more could your little boy or girl starting out wish for.
